Gabby Vargas
GABC Alum 2014
Currently in New York, NY
“I graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience (2018). I’m currently a Master of Social Work student at Fordham University (expected graduation – 2026). I’m interning at Catholic Charities of NY in the immigration division. I’m still in touch with some of my GABC sisters! ”

Julia Antwi-Boasiako
GABC Alum 2020
Currently in the Bronx, NY
“I recently graduated from NYU with a major in Public Health and Sociology, and a minor in Chemistry. In July, I completed a 9-week pre-medical summer program at the University of North Carolina, where I had the opportunity to take first-year medical school courses. I was honored to receive the highest grade in Gross Anatomy. Currently, I’m based in the Bronx, working part-time as a medical scribe at CityMD Urgent Care while preparing for the MCAT, which I plan to take in January.”

Ann-Marie Cornwall-Garden
GABC Alum 2006
Deland, Florida
“I have a beautiful five-year-old daughter, Aubrey, and loving husband, Jermaine. We are truly enjoying our Florida living and still making time for mentoring when we can. My passion is still helping the youth because I realize how much of an impact having support, and exposure to new experiences has impacted my life. In 2018 I self-published a book “Make Way for Rene” that helps kids in middle school to love themselves despite being bullied. In a way, it is an ode to the younger me as a reminder that I am beautifully and wonderfully made by God to live a full abundant life through love, grace and service.
Thank you Guilford A Better Chance for being a part of my story!” (Read More)
