Guilford A Better Chance welcomes academically talented, motivated young women from underserved communities to attend a top-tier public high school through a preparatory, college-track program that builds the skills for future leadership — in their careers, their communities, and beyond. GABC scholars are chosen through a rigorous selection process that looks at academic achievement, leadership, motivation, and maturity.
While attending Guilford High School, scholars live in a nurturing home environment with a live-in resident director and a strong support system — becoming part of the Guilford community.
Our volunteer board, staff, host families, and the administration and faculty at GHS all make this program possible, alongside the wider support of the town — and our scholars, in turn, bring immeasurable energy and talent that enrich the life of Guilford.
